The World Is Amazing
On Monday we closed our biggest deal ever, in the UK.
Today on our “Weekly What’s Up” call - a recurring half-hour meeting where we pick a “Story of the Week” for our global sales folks to share with each other - the team responsible for that deal walked the global sales team through the highlights of what happened. There were a few slides, but the speakers focused on nuances related to personalities in the deal, things we did right, and things we did wrong. The content was awesome.
About 50 people from our global sales team joined the call… from Australia, Korea, Germany, The Netherlands, and the US. All got the benefit of what we’d learned in the process of closing that deal, along with the inspiration that comes from watching others succeed in doing exactly what you’re trying to do.
I was on my way to a lunch meeting, so I took the call on my Galaxy Nexus. Clicking the link in my calendar brought up the WebEx, and just as the slides came up, the bluetooth connection with my phone clicked over, and I listened to the story of this deal in my car, along with people spread to the far corners of the earth, many on mobile devices as well, all of us getting invaluable insight that will help us win.
It just struck me at one point, going 70 down the Concord Turnpike outside Boston… The world we live in is freaking amazing.
Have a good weekend.
