The Wire may be the greatest television show ever made. And I say that as someone who never missed a minute of a first-airing Soprano’s episode.

One of the things that made it great was a window into the world of Baltimore drug culture. It was a world that first seemed foreign, then became more and more familiar as time went on.

My favorite character in the show was drug kingpin Stringer Bell. Stringer was the businessman of the crew, and knew more about marketing than any B-school professor I’ve come across.

Here’s one of my favorite scenes, with some insight on the strategic importance of product quality, as only String can deliver it.
