And I don’t mean they suck for Apple ads. I mean they Verizon-suck.
In a way this fact testifies to Jobs’ genius. One man, with a singular vision, as the steward of products, brands, and business results envied by the world.
In another, it confirms his flaws. Succession is part of what it means to be an executive. If Steve’s vision doesn’t survive Steve’s passing, it’s a pretty big black mark on the CEO of the century.
So do we love Apple, or did we just love Steve, all this time? Guess we’ll see, soon enough.
